The Super Falcons of Nigeria following its victory the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon earlier today at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja are into the final round of the 2024 Summer Olympics qualifier; npflupdates.com reports.
The Super Falcons after ending the first leg fixture of the tie in Douala, Cameroon, in a stalemate, struck today to win by 1-0 aggregate.

It was a keenly contested fixture with the closes neighbors all out to frustrate the nine-time African champions.
It took a 14th minute through pass from Midfielder Christy Ucheibe to Jennifer Echegini to create a chance for the opener.
SL Benfica player Ucheibe, out muscled a Cameroonian player, laid a through pass to Juventus Ladies’ winger Jennifer Echegini, who ran with the ball into the opposition’s penalty box. Did a couple of step overs, before laying a low cross from the left-hand of the field for forward Esther Okoronkwo who fired home.
Okoronkwo who saw her goal ruled out in Douala, was very happy to have scored his first ever goal for the Super Falcons in an Olympic qualifier.
Super Falcons reach final round of 2024 Olympics qualifier
Two important things can be noted from the mouthwatering outcome.
First: The Super Falcons were more composed at the Abiola Stadium than they were in Douala. They were not as physically strong as their opponents, but they utilised their tactics well, hence their victory.
Secondly:Â Some notable names in the Super Eagles set-up suffered an injury during the game. Players, Oluwatosin Demehin who got replaced by Halimatu Ayinde suffered an injury early into the game.

Playamker, Jennifer Echegini suffered an injury and was replaced later on in the game. Nigerians are hoping they recover sooner than expected.
Finally: The Super Falcons will now play the winner from the crucial Tanzania and South Africa clash later this evening. The former African champions hope to secure it’s first ever Olympics ticket in almost two decades
