Over five hundred prospective professional footballers have turned up for the Abia Warriors U-19 screening exercise in Umuahia, Abia State Capital, npflupdates.com reports.

Abia Warriors in a bid to beef up its Reserves is screening talented potential footballers who will make up its youth team. And will most times promote exceptional players from the Reserve team to the senior team, in case if any want.
According to a reliable source, more than five hundred boys below the age of nineteen turned up for the programme which starter today.
According to a club statement on X (formerly Twitter), the screening exercise which started today, Wednesday, 27 September, and will end on Friday 29 September, 2023.
Based on the notification, eligible players who are within the age bracket, is advised to attend and showcase their talents.

“Ongoing U-19 screening exercise at the Evangel High School, Umuahia today.
The exercise continues on Thursday and Friday. Do not come if you are over the age limit. It is strictly for 19 years and below,” the post read.
In a related story, but from a different organisation, ex Super Falcons forward Desire Oparanozie, has called on talented footballers who wish to play in Asia to come for trials.
According to the former WAFCON winner, the call if strictly for interested male footballers.
The offer is open until after 4 October, 2023. Based on her post, slots are limited; terms and conditions are also applied.

Recall, Oparanozie retired from active football few weeks ago, aged 29. And has since her retirement been trying to help promote and market talented footballers in Nigeria.
“To my fans, family, and friends, thank you for the show of love and support over the years,” she said in her retirement post.
“It’s time to take a bow, as I believe there’s no better time than now. I’m officially announcing my retirement from professional football for both club and country.”
