Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Technical Director Augustine Eguavoen has left his position as tye caretaker manager of the Super Eagles; npflupdates.com reports.
Eguavoen took charge of the Super Eagles on interim basis after Bruno Labbadia couldn’t agree on terms with the NFF last month.
The former Nigeria international guided Nigeria to a 3-0 victory against Benin Republic in Uyo last weekend; and a goalless draw in Kigali earlier today.

Speaking to journalist at the airport, Eguavoen revealed that his time with the three-time African champions on interim basis has expired.
According to him, the mandate from the NFF was to be in charge for the two qualifiers. And now that he has delivered on Tue mandate, he’s stepping aside.
Eguavoen gives reason for quitting Super Eagles coaching position
“I have been given a mandate to handle two games. I will want to say I am very pleased with the boys and again thanks to the NFF leadership and all the boys who supported me in terms of discipline and working hard”, he was quoted by Owngoal Nigeria.
“It ends today, which is the two games mandate. I can’t talk about Libya because I haven’t been told but however I can talk about it a little bit incase we have another coach, we can talk about it. I want to be closer to the team as it should be and I can give inside story and inside information that we need to be able to overcome Libya.”

Eguavoen advised the Super Eagles to take every game very serious going forward; arguing that no team is now a pushover.
He added, “No team is a pushover anymore but with this spirit that these boys have exhibited and from what | have seen, we have a very bright future”.
