Nigeria Minister for Sports Senator John Enoh describes the decision of Bruno Labbadia to leave Super Eagles coaching position as “very embarrassing”; npflupdates.com reports.
The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, announced Bruno Labbadia as the 37th coach of the Super Eagles. The former VFL Wolfsburg gaffer shockingly left the position about three days later, for failure to reach an agreement.
Left with no option with the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier around the corner, the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, installed its Technical Director Augustine Egueavoen as a caretaker manager.
Speaking about the decision of Labbadia to leave the national team, Senator John said it’s regrettable.
What Enoh said about Bruno Labbadia
“This was very embarrassing and regrettable,” Enoh admitted on Arise TV today.
“I immediately got across to the NFF on this and asked why go public on an appointment of a coach when you have not concluded.
“Their defence is that they got a commitment from the coach on this.”
In a related story, former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Melvin Pinnick has denied the existence of God-fatherism in the federation.
He stated this while addressing questions as to why Egueavoen keeps getting interim management Super Eagles jobs.

“Eguavoen is absolutely nothing, not like that. If you remember the Shuaibu Amodu time, as a technical director, even in major teams in global football, a technical director takes charge when there is a vacuum in the coaching crew.

“That is what happened. Eguavoen is still the technical director of the Nigerian Federation. If it was someone else, that person would have taken charge.
“I believe that it is more about the players, not even the coach. The players should look at that green-white-green flag, should look at that emblem and say “I want to die for Nigeria;” Pinnick was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.
