The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play at the next edition of the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament, npflupdates.com reports.
The three-time African champions clinched it’s ticket to the biennial tournament with two games to spare.

Considering the calibre of players currently in the team, one would think their qualifying capaoiwill be flawless. However, the smooth and unbeaten run was stopped by the Amavubi stars of Rwanda.
Two quick second-half goals by Mutsinzi and Nshitu cancelled out Samuel Chukwueze’s opener in the 59th minute.
What Spittler said about Super Eagles of Nigeria
Speaking after the game, Rwanda coach, Thorsten Spittler reveal his excitement. According to the coach, it wasn’t an easy outing for his boys, but their hard-work paid off
“I’m happy because we came, we saw, we conquered. It’s almost seen as an impossibility for any team to beat the Super Eagles, with some of Africa’s best footballers, on their home soil.
“Check the FIFA rankings! The Super Eagles are ranked around 30th, while we, Rwanda, are somewhere in the 160s. That’s a huge gap. Yet, we stood our ground and achieved this feat. It’s a big plus for us, and I’m proud of the players,” he German gaffer said in his post-game conference.
Spittler also talked about his position as Rwanda coach going forward. He revealed he’s retiring from coaching and, that is not as a result of his failure to get Rwanda an AFCON ticket.
What Ekong Said Post Super Eagles AFCON Qualifier Loss To Rwanda
In another story, Super Eagles Captain William Troost-Ekong has taken responsibility of the shocking AFCON qualifier loss to Rwanda.
According to the former PAOK Thessaloniki defender, he failed to live up to expectations as the national team conceded two quick goals.
“Yes, you’re right, and I take responsibility,” Troost-Ekong told reporters.
