The decision to invite the striker to the national team didn’t go down well with Nigeria 1994 world cup star Emeka Ezeugo. Ezeugo, cried that until Osimhen publicly apologises to former manager Finidi George, having him back for international duties is an act of disrespect and indiscipline.
Recall, Osimhen earlier this year wemt live on Instagram, and used the medium to criticise and call out Finidi.
Reacting to the incident, the former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidential aspirant, argued that a player with low manners shouldn’t be allowed into the Super Eagles.
What Ezeugo said about Osimhen and his inclusion in the Super Eagles
“I saw the video even yesterday and we are going to let a player with such low manners for his coach play again for the team just like that ?. I don’t think it’s proper unless he is footing the bills of some big wigs in the NFF”, Ezeugo told OwnGoal.
“Of course you can’t stop a player from playing for his country but you have to instill discipline by doing the right thing. Everyone is acting like nothing happened and it shouldn’t be the case. Osimhen should use the same channel to apologize to not just Finidi but Nigerians. That was classless”, he stated.
Ezeugo called out the leadership of the national team for failing to address the issue. The UK-based football executive, described such act as questionable as it concerns their incompetence.

Ezeugo argued about Super Eagles leadership
“When you have senior players in the team like the captain and the leadership group and something like this is about to be swept under the carpet, then you have to question their competence. In my days this won’t happen and elsewhere it shouldn’t happen even now. The leadership group need to question themselves shamefully,” he concluded.
