AFCONQ: We’re In Nigeria For Revenge – Baciro

Head Coach of the Guinea-Bissau national team, Baciro Cande has confirmed his willingness to beat Nigeria in Abuja NPFLUpdates reports.

Guinea-Bissau arrived Nigeria few days ago ahead of their AFCON qualifier first leg match with the Super Eagles.

Baciro who witnessed his side lose 2-0 to Super Eagles at the AFCON 2022, has vowed to take a revenge.

Recall Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau during a group game fixture at AFCON in Cameroon. Two second half goals from Sadiq Umar and William Troost-Ekong made the difference.

The 75-year-old Tactician vowed to revenge the defeat during a pre-match press conference yesterday.

“We shall do everything possible to beat Nigeria in Abuja as revenge for the loss inflicted on us the last time we clashed at AFCON in Cameroon,” the former Amora FC player was quoted by CompleteSportsNigeria.

What Baciro said about Nigeria:

“It was a tough game and we gave it our best but lost. The quality of the Super Eagles gave them the victory.”

Talking about his present team, the ex-footballer highlighted things have changed for good.

“But we have improved and we have learnt from our errors and we will ensure that we don’t repeat such again,” he rounded saying.

On Monday 27 March 2023, Guinea-Bissau will welcome Nigeria at a neutral venue for the second leg of the match.

A win for the West Africans today and on Monday, will see them climb to the top of the group.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has vowed to score as many goals as possible for his team if presented with the opportunities.

“Hopefully, I can get a lot of goals for the team, as much as I can,” he said.

“But then, even though I do not this, I want the team to win. I want us to have these three points.”
