Enyimba FC new recruit Chidiebere Izuogu is upbeat that the People’s Elephant will come out victorious on Sunday’s clash against Wydad Casablanca npflupdates.com reports.
Izuogu who thrilled Enyimba fans last weekend in an NPFL fixture against Akwa United may likely get some minutes against Wydad Casablanca.
Casablanca Will look to take a point away from Uyo in its first African Football League (AFL) fixture against Enyimba. The inaugural African Football League kicked off yesterday in Dar es Salaam Tanzania, with Simba SC trading tackles with Egyptian outfit Al Ahly SC.
Speaking to the club’s media after their training on Friday, Izuogu, confirmed high winning mentality amongst Enyimba players.

“we promise our fans we are going to do our best. The mentality in the camp is very high, the confidence is very high, and every one is preparing to get a win on Sunday,” the 18-year-old said ahead of the match as posted on a Facebook page.

Also, Enyimba lucrative playmaker, Eze Happy Ekwutoziam, admitted the fans and management of the club expects nothing but a win from the team. According to the lethal goalscorer, the precedent of the North African club won’t deter their already high morale.
“A lot is expected from us, knowing how strong Wydad AC is. They are one of the biggest clubs in Africa but we are not under pressure,” he said.
“We have been working hard, keeping shape and working on our strategies on how to eliminate them. A lot is expected from us not just from our fans, but Nigerians and our fans across West Africa. We are not going to let them down.”
“We are going into the game with the right mindset to get a victory, and AFL league is a big platform. Being the maiden edition, it is an opportunity for most of us, and we are working hard to make the best out it,” he continued.
He added, “We call on all our fans from all over the nation and Africa to come out en mass and cheer us to victory. We assure them to be at our best to get the needed result.”
