Buhari, Tinubu Congratulates Anthony Joshua

President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulates Anthony Joshua for Victor over Jermaine Franklin, npflupdates exclusively reports.

Nigeria-English boxer, Anthony Joshua, early Sunday morning returned to winning ways after beating American counterpart Jermaine Franklin in London.

The Nigeria-born boxer last year suffered a back-to-back loss to Ukrainian counterpart Oleksandr Usyk. The former International Boxing Federation champion lost his championships to the Ukrainian when they exchanged blows at the New Tottenham stadium in London.

President Muhammadu Buhari, through a statement by his assistant on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, congratulated Joshua for his victory.

According to Buhari, the Nigerian is an icon worthy of emulation. He congratulated the Englishman for being resilient and dedicated despite the upsets he suffered losing his championships to Usyk.

Buhari believed that Joshua’s accomplishments will further inspire upcoming professionals, not to be discouraged by temporary setbacks

In the same manner Nigeria’s president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also congratulated Joshua for his victory over Jermaine.

Posting a picture of Joshua in the ring with his hand held up in the air, Tinubu congratulated Joshua.

According to the former Lagos state Governor, determination and perseverance always pays off.

According to his congratulatory statement, Nigeria is proud of the the Nigeria-English boxer.

Tinubu congratulates Anthony Joshua:

“Congratulations Champ! @AnthonyJoshua. Determination and perseverance always pays off. Nigeria is proud of you,” Tinubu tweeted via his official verified Twitter account.

 

Anthony Joshua will now set his sights on another superior challenge, probably towards fellow Englishman Tyson Fury.

Joshua may likely have a shot at Tyson Fury’s championship, after a unification bout between the Gypsy King and Oleksandr Usyk might have taken place.

Anthony first lost his WBO and IBF championships to Andy Ruiz Jr. He regained the championships in a rematch that happened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
