FC Brondby and Viborg are currently in a tug of war against each other over who would be successful in securing the services of Flying Eagles defender Augustine Njoku NPFL Updates understands.
Njoku, was with the Flying Eagles when they won Bronze medal at the just concluded AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt.
He is very lucrative, establishing himself as an integral part of the team until he suffered a slight injury. Due to the injury, he stayed out of action for the remainder of the matches (i.e Gambia U-20 semi-final and Tunisia U-20, bronze medal match).
A football agent that specialises in moving young players from Africa to Europe, told NPFL Updates about Njoku. According to him, some top clubs in the Danish Superligaen are interested in Njoku.

European Clubs Battle For Flying Eagles’ Njoku:
“With what I’ve heard my colleagues say about him(Njoku), he’s a top target for two Danish Clubs Brøndby IF and Viborg,” he said.
“A scout who recently returned from Egypt had marked him for further monitoring. If he can make it to the World Cup, maybe then an an offer may be made. And of course, more clubs will see him and his abilities,” he concluded.
Njoku at the moment has a running contract with an NPFL outfit Abia Warriors. But a more lucrative European offer may force him to move.
In the 2021/2022 season for Abia Warriors, he featured 11 times and had just one goal to his name.
Meanwhile, coach of the Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso, has until April 10. To submit the provisional list of players he’d be taking to the U-20 World Cup to FIFA.
There’s no doubt Njoku will make the provisional list for the youth tournament. He has since returned to Abia Warriors to continue active football.
