Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has come under heavy criticism following his side’s loss to Benin Republic earlier today; npflupdates.com reports.
According to fans Finidi does not deserve to be anywhere near the Super Eagles again. Recall, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) some weeks ago announced George as Super Eagles head coach.
And last weekend, the 53-year-old had his first game against South Africa in a FIFA world cup qualifier fixture. It ended in a one all draw at the Godswill Akpabio stadium Uyo; a result which did not go down well with supporters.
Nigerians are however hoping the Super Eagles will secure it’s first ever victory in a world cup qualifier against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic. But, that wasn’t to be, as the Nigeria neighbors came from behind to beat the three-time African champions.
The outcome of the fixture didn’t go down well with supporters, who have used various social media platforms to air their opinion and pass a vote of no confidence against the former Ajax winger.
In another development also, Sports Minister Senator John Enoh has summoned the NFF following the poor run of form of Finidi.
According to the minister who spoke through his media aide Diana-Mary Nsan, the NFF must provide technical report and what is going on.

“the recent results are unacceptable,” the minister said: “Despite the immense support from President Tinubu and the high expectations of Nigerian football fans, the Super Eagles have underperformed. The NFF must provide a comprehensive technical report explaining the reasons behind this poor showing and give cause why there mustn’t be consequences for the disappointment caused by both government and the generality of Nigerians,” Enoh was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.
