Enyimba FC Chairman Kanu Nwankwo has denied reports he has sacked club’s head coach Finidi George npflupdates.com reports.
Few days ago, reports emerged online, that Kanu Nwankwo has fired Finidi despite leading the team to the NPFL title.

And the controversial, report, emerged after the club’s new Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, who’s acting on behalf of Kanu, handed a 48-hour ultimatum to all the team’s technical crew. Including those occupying the junior positions(in the feeders and reserve teams)
The letter titled: ‘Application for re-absorption into Enyimba management’, which was made available to npflupdates.com read,
“The management, staff and technical crew of Enyimba first and second teams are hereby instructed to re-apply for their positions with immediate effect. All applications should be submitted to the club TMS manager within 48 hours.”
And when some are hitting back at Kanu Nwankwo for taking such a decision, many are stating otherwise. At that time, several attempts by our correspondent to reach Enyimba’s Sporting Director’s phone proved abortive.

However, according to a report by the PUNCH Nigeria, the two-time African Best Player has denied the report. According to Kanu, the report lacks merit and is a lie, citing that Finidi George remains their coach.

“No, it is not true,” Kanu told PUNCH Sports Extra.
“He is our coach and we are happy with him.”
Meanwhile, Finidi George, who signed a two-year contract with the Aba CAF Champions League winners, in 2021, is reportedly negotiating a new contract at the club. And that would see him be in charge of the team as they return to the continent next season.
Also, speculations are spreading that the current NPFL champions whoi couldn’t win the just concluded NPFL Super Eight, will know have the chance of adding another silverware to its collection at ValueJet pre-seaon tourney.
And the 2023 edition of the annual tourney will hold in Ogun state at the home of Remo Stars SC.
