Gift Orban was handed a late national team call-up by Coach Salisu Yusuf, to the Nigeria U-23 team for the AFCON U-23 double-header qualifier clash with Guinea.

He failed to show up to honour the clarion call amid speculations he’s not interested in Nigeria football.

However, conflicting reports emerged that Gent was behind his failure to honouring the invitation from the national team.

According to what was gathered, the Belgian giants explained the national invitation was too ‘sudden’ and poses a risk to the safety of it’s player.

Valued at €50,000,000 by Gent, AC Milan along some other Italian clubs have their eyes on the youngster.

The Serie A champions may launch a bid before the Summer transfer window opens.

Also, English club, Southampton FC has expressed interest in securing the services of the Nigerian.
