The Super Eagles international debut of Gift Orban may have to wait for another time as the player becomes a major doubt for nwxth month’s world cup qualifier npflupdates.com reports.
Gift Orban was with the Super Eagles of Nigeria last month, when they beat Sao Tome and Principe to round up its 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament qualifier.

The 21-year-old was ruled out of the fixture due to a knock he experienced few hours to the game. He would go on to miss this month’s international friendlies against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia and the Mambas of Mozambique.
Interestingly, last Thursday, the former Stabæk winger, ended his longest goal-drought when he scored against Breidabilik in a UEFA Europa Conference League fixture. And was in contention for a call-up to Super Eagles, due to absence of injured Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.
Gent manager provides Gift Orban injury update
KAA Gent manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck in an interview explained why Orban was an unused substitute against Standard Liege in a Pro League fixture last weekend.
According to the football guru, Orban was struggling to overcome a groin problem, which even makes him a doubt for Wednesday’s Cup clash against Patro Eisden.
In quotes relayed by Flemish newspaper Het Nieuwsblad and quoted by Allnigeria Hein said:
“Gift had a problem that had been going on for a while, but it was under control and we thought he was fit yesterday.

“During the warm-up he felt something again when he did a few sprints. Today he did some exercises and worked with the physiotherapists. We now have to wait and see.”
Orban will now hope to return in time, so he can make the Super Eagles squad list where he would have a chance of making his national team debut.
