“I Like You A Lot” Brazil Legend Gushes Over Super Eagles Goalkeeper Following His Recent Form

Brazil football legend Nelson Dida reveals his love and support for Super Eagles and Udinese Calcio goalkeeper Maduka Okoye; npflupdates.com reports.

Okoye is yet to make an appearance for the Super Eagles since after the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

In a recent interview, the former Sparta Rotterdam shot-stopper spoke glowingly of the former AC Milan goalkeeper.

Dida is because of his goalkeeping skills and titles to his name is widely regarded as one of the greatest-ever to man the sticks.

“Ciao Nelson, I think you already know that I am a big fan of yours, I hope that one day we can meet. I hope that you have heard of me, that you have seen my saves and that you can help me grow and reach your level. This is my wish. Greetings,” Okoye said in a recent interview.

Dida, now retired from active since 2015 has now replied Okoye. The FIFA world cup winner urged the 25-year-old to keep working hard to as to reach his level or higher.

“He(Okoye) is a goalkeeper who can do a lot in this championship, one thing I told him is that this is a tough championship, it is not easy, there are many things off the pitch that you have to manage,” Dida said.

According to Dida, the Super Eagles shot-stopper, must stay focused, and keep his mind only on the job.

“He must have the ability to keep his mind only for his job and for what he is capable of doing, so a lot of training, work and work, my advice is always that.

“Work certainly pays off, he is a goalkeeper that I like a lot, who can do a lot in this championship here,” he concluded.

In another story, Super Eagles interim manager Augustine Eguavoen, has delegated the CHAN duties to his assistants Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Illechukwu.

According to the 58-year-old, the two coaches are familiar with the players plying their trade in the NPFL; hence making team selection easier and stress-free.

“I’ve spoken with my bosses, and that’s why we brought Ilechukwu, Daniel, and also Baruwa on board.

“These coaches have been in the league for many years, so even with their eyes closed they will be able to bring out 35, 40 names without blinking.” Eguavoen was quoted by Brila.net Nigeria.
