Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella remains upbeat he can work his way back into the national team before the next FIFA international break; npflupdates.com reports.
Tella has been absent from Super Eagles activities for several months now; with the former Burnley playmaker also enduring difficult time in Germany.

Tella after impressing in English football with Burnley joined Bayer Leverkusen, where’s won the Bundesliga title and DFB Pokal.
His performances with the German outift earned him a Super Eagles call-up; where he made his debut in a qualifier match away at Rwanda. All seemed rosy at the begining, but reverse became the case after he dropped form at Bayer; and that subsequently affected his national invitation.
What Tella Said About His Return To Super Eagles
Speaking in a recent interview, Tella stated clearly his desire to get back with the three-time African champions.
“Of course, it’s an honour to represent your country, but I have to play here more to get the recognition to play with the country. But I think it’s all about baby steps, keep getting better, keep improving, and if I continue to do the right things, I hope Nigeria will call me back,” he told Omasports TV.
“I can’t go just because of who I am, I have to earn the opportunity to play for Nigeria, and if I’m not playing well for my club, I have to work hard to get back into the team here, then the National team follows.”
No 2026 World Cup Ticket; And I Will Quit – Broos
In another story, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos reveal he’d quit his role of the team fails to qualify for the 2026 FIFA world cup tournament.
According to the 72-year-old, he already knew his boys will secure the 2025 AFCON ticket. And is now bent on securing the 2026 FIFA world cup tournament ticket.
“You know I’m not stupid, I knew we would qualify [for AFCON]” he said.
“l said [if we don’t qualify for 2026 World Cup I would leave too], but if you compare the team from two years ago and the team now, there’s a difference of day and night in everything.
