South Africa ‘Bafana Bafana’ coach Hugo Broos reveals he’s going to quit his position if his side fails to qualify for the 2026 FIFA men’s world cup in America; the Super Eagles also hope to qualify after missing out on last edition in Qatar; npflupdates.com reports.
Hugo Broos remains upbeat his side has what it takes to shrug off competitions from Super Eagles and Amavubi.

According to the 72-year+old who spoke recently to the media; he’d quit his position of his team fail to clinch the 2026 world cup ticket.

“You know I’m not stupid, I knew we would qualify [for AFCON]” he said.
“l said [if we don’t qualify for 2026 World Cup I would leave too], but if you compare the team from two years ago and the team now, there’s a difference of day and night in everything.
“In quality, in power, in results, in whatever you say – there’s a big difference and we worked on it to make this team, it was not easy”, he said.
Speaking further, Broos revealed football stakeholders in South Africa never believed his tactics and approach.
“Certainly in the beginning, nobody understood what I was doing, young players, no players from Chiefs, what is that? Nothing was good. Now we are where we are, and everyone is proud of Bafana Bafana at the moment” he concluded.

In another story, Nigeria legend, Sylvania Okpala urges forward Victor Boniface to step up and contribute to Super Eagles goals.
Boniface is enduring difficult times in front of Super Eagles goals; failing to score goals for the three-time African champions. The 24-year-old’s lack of goals has made some fans agitated; while some his called for his removal from the national team.
Speaking to Brila.net, Okpala advised Boniface to try and assist goals, if he’s goal aren’t coming as expected.
“Osimhen comes in and scores. When Osimhen isn’t there, Boniface doesn’t score,” Okpala noted.
“He needs to be talked to, given a lot of confidence, and reminded that as a center forward, his primary role is to score. If he can’t score, then he should start providing assists,” Okpala was quoted by Brila.

“He shouldn’t be too anxious to score in every game. Yes, scoring is crucial, but he needs to stay calm. When you count one, you can get to two. Once he starts scoring, the confidence will return. It’s normal. Bayer Leverkusen is different from the national team.’
