Shockingly, reverse was the case. A 17th minute strike by the host was the only difference between both sides in the first period.
And just when the Flying Eagles was about to get back into the game, the opponents scored a second; extending their lead.
It ended 2-0 against Nigeria, who will now return to the country in a matter of days.
According to Coach Zubairu Aliyu, more players are expected to join the team when they regroup in Nigeria.
The gaffer stated that, players who couldn’t fit in and adapt to his game plan will be replaced.
“If any of those that went to WAFU-B can’t meet up with the standard we are looking for, he will be replaced, and so are the new ones if you can’t fit in. We still have to keep setting until we get a balanced team for the U20,” Zubairu told the media last Wednesday.

“We are expecting a lot of players, particularly those who have taken their careers abroad, that are eligible.
