According to the Olympics gold medalist, the biggest problem facing the three-time African champions isn’t about qualities, but a problem of indiscipline.
What Ikpeba said about the Super Eagles
“The biggest problem of the Super Eagles is indiscipline,” Ikpeba fired a broadside on the national team during a SuperSports programme Monday Night Football.
The former AS Monaco winger, it’s imperative that there’s unity and respect in the team and to the manager.
Recall, forward Victor Osimhen earlier this year lashed out publicly against Finidi George who was Super Eagles manager at that time. An action which many football players saw a direct disrespect to the manager and the national team.
“There should be team unity and respect for the manager. When those things are not there, it is a problem.
“The team were not good enough ad so the abysmal results in June,” Ikpeba said.
He continued, “They made Nigerians proud when they reached the final of the AFCON and now we want to see a reaction from them.
“It will not be easy against Benin again, but a win will ease the pressure.

He added, “It does not have to be 4-0, 1-0 will do. The most important thing is to get a result.”
Ikpeba went further to advise the assistants of interim manager Augustine Eguavoen, Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede from the NPFL to learn from the principal.
