According to a report by Allnigeria the 53-year-old expressed shock that some of his players from the U-20 couldn’t make the Super Eagles 2023 AFCON squad list.

Ladan Bosso talks about promoting players to Super Eagles
According to Bosso, players that played at the 2023 Fifa U20 World Cup, like Daniel Daga, Daniel Bameyi, Benjamin Fredrick and Haliru Sarki should have been chosen in the Super Eagles squad for the 34th edition of the AFCON.
“I’ve always said it the Ladan Bosso you’re seeing today and always I’m a developer. I’ve always developed players for the Super Eagles, that is for the main team.
“I take you back in 2007 when I was opportune to take the team to Canada, six of them started playing for Super Eagles from the U20,” he told reporters.
“Now why I said I was shocked when the last AFCON list was released, we have the likes of Sarki, Daga that played here, Fredrick, Bameyi and co. I was expecting them to be called to the Super Eagles.”
Speaking about the loss to Senegal U-20, Ladan Bosso said; “I’m disappointed because this game was the best we have played so far in this tournament.”
”I didn’t have enough time to scout for players and what I did was to watch few games in Uyo and other places .That’s where I saw the two Enyimba players, Daga and Chibueze ”
“The lesson is that we need to prepare very well for future tournaments.
“The idea of preparing for a tournament in 13 days is really not the best,” he continued.
“But we can take positives from the fact that some players in this squad can be nurtured for the future and possibly play for the national team.
