Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa is appealing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu pays a morale-boosting visit to the national team npflupdates.com reports.
Musa is of the opinion that the national team will be highly motivated should President Tinubu pay a supporting visit to the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles is participating in the ongoing Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast. And are on course to winning a fourth title, after winning it’s third in 2013.
What captain Musa said about a morale-boosting President Tinubu’s visit
Musa, who spoke on behalf of the Super Eagles players during a zoom meeting with the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, on Wednesday called for a morale-boosting visit.
“We have a message that we are going to send to you [Enoh] to the President,” Musa was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.
“We don’t want him to watch the game on TV anymore, we want him over here [Ivory Coast] to come and cheer us together. So this is our own message to the President.”
However, Senator Enoh, told the players that despite their qualification for the knockout stages, that the President isn’t impressed with their performances so far at the AFCON.
“I had a meeting with the President yesterday. I went to the villa for something else and the President cornered me and said we (Eagles) managed to qualify and I said that’s how we are going to keep going until we win the tournament,” he said.
The philanthropic politician however assured the players that the President will visit at the appropriate time.
“The president will come. I can assure you the president will come. He has told me when he wants to come and my prayer is that gradually we are going to get to the point where the President can come. He will come. I will bring the president, he will come,” Enoh assured.

Nigeria will play it’s Round of 16 fixture against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Saturday.
Injured players, Alhassan Yusuf and vice captain, William Troost-Ekong are back from injury and will.be available for selection for the mouthwatering fixture on Saturday.
