The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently in a contract talks with a former Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum ahead of Women’s African Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) tournament npflupdates.com Nigeria.
NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau in a recent media chat that was reported by FAJ Sports on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle confirmed that a contract extension talk is ongoing with Randy Waldrum.

In a related development South African Coach Pitso Mosimane has declared interest in coaching a national team.

According to Pitso, a Nigerian side that has Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen is good and “unbelievable”.
“To be honest, I would like to coach in the World Cup. I do not choose what comes, I would like to go to the World Cup. South Africa wants to qualify, Nigeria wants to qualify,” Pitso Mosimane said.
“If you have Chukuweze and the boy (Osimhen) playing for Napoli as your striker, I mean really. That Nigerian team is unbelievable. I saw the draw against Lesotho and Zimbabwe. Okay, its football, it happens. But how can politics between the government and the federation derail the team?”
Another story related to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has it that NFF President Ibrahim Gusau is looking to introduce Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the local league.
According to the NFF boss, some referees from the local league will be sent to Morocco to have a training in VAR.
“Very soon, I want to assure you that we will start to see how we are going to use VAR in Nigeria. By January, we are going to send the first set of referees to Morocco for the training of VAR,” Gusau said.

“WAFU is also organising training, and we are trying to increase the number of Nigerian referees going for the training to a minimum of 10. After the training by WAFU, we want to send the referees to places where they can learn more about VAR on the pitch for a few weeks.
“I want to assure you that in the nearest future, we are going to try and see how we can start using VAR. I assure you that before the end of my tenure in 2026, we will start using VAR in Nigeria.”
