Rangers International Head coach, Abdu Maikaba has blamed the center-field referee for his side’s loss to Rivers United on Wednesday’s fixture npflpdates reports.
On Wednesday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium Port-Hacourt, NPFL Champions, Rivers United ended Rangers’ three match unbeaten run.

Playmaker Nyima Nwagua, got a better part of the goalkeeper in the second half after a goalless first half.
The towering player on the 64th minute chipped the ball into Rangers’ net from a beautiful pass from Pacquah.
The goal was the only difference in the rescheduled NPFL Matchday 8 fixture. Rivers United now occupies the second position on the NPFL Group B table; a point behind Lobi Stars.
The NPFL Champions, so far managed to get a total of 18points from a possible 27.
Reacting after the loss, Maikaba, blamed the referee for the ‘mistake’ that led to their loss.
“It was a very good game from both sides which to a very large extent showcased our football in good light,” he told the Flying Antelopes official website.
Maikaba blames center-field referee for Rivers United loss:
“However, we conceded a goal due to a mistake by the referee who initially whistled in our favour after a tackle on my player, which led to him being treated on the pitch.
“But she turned around to give the advantage to the Rivers United, and this led to our conceding the goal.”
Rangers currently sits at the 7th position of the NPFL Group B table.The former NPFL Champions has a total of 9 points from a possible 27.
Coach Maikaba just before the NPFL 2022/2023 season cried over his side’s poor form in front of goal.
The tactician agreed that, for a team to successfully lift the Nigeria Premier Football League title, it must have a forward that can return at least 10 goals per season.
Rangers will return to action this weekend when the NPFL restarts after the election break.
