Chippa United shot-stopper Stanley Nwabali reveals he would want a move to a bigger club, where hopes to engage with new challenges; npflupdates.com reports.
Nwabali was outstanding for Nigeria at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, establishing himself as the first choice goalkeeper. At the tournament, he kept more than four cleansheets, helping the Super Eagles to earn a second place finish.
Post the AFCON, speculations spread that European clubs and South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs are interested in the goalkeeper.
And on several occasions, he has denied reports that clubs have reached out to him; but on this occasion, he revealed a move to another challenge will be appreciated.
What Nwabali said amid transfer speculations
“Well, everyone would love to leave because when you are in some position, you need to grow,” the 27-year-old was quoted by PUNCH Nigeria.
“Like everyone in my position, I would like to grow more. I’m talking about clubs higher than this [bigger than Chippa United] because I have been giving my all to my club this season. I just wish to have another challenge at some other place.
“To be honest, this season has been one of best seasons of my football career inside Chippa and outside Chippa,” the former Enyimba FC goalkeeper continued.
“This season, Chippa has been nice to me and being part of this family. We found ourselves ending the season better than the previous season. This season was one of the best seasons for me.”
In another story, Udinese Calcio goalkeeper Maduka Okoye reveals its am honour for him to return to the Super Eagles fold.
Okoye has enjoyed some spells away from the three-time African champions; with the most recent excuse from the team being weeks before the 2023 AFCON, were it was speculated he had excused himself from the AFCON team due to personal undisclosed reasons.

He has since impressed at Udinese, saved them from relegation to the Serie B last weekend. Thus, earning a ln invitation to the team for 2026 world cup qualifiers.
“I am very happy to return to the national team. it is a great honor for me and my family to play for Nigeria,” Okoye told Udinese official website.
