SSC Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen is very close to becoming the highest scoring African player in the Italian Serie A after George Weah npflupdates understands.
Osimhen Sunday evening scored a second consecutive brace in a space of three days.
The 24-year-old last Wednesday scored twice against Eintracht Frankfurt to help Napoli reach first ever UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
Sunday at home to Turin-based Ola Aina’s Torino FC, Osimhen scored his second brace. He helped extend it’s 18 points lead on top of the Serie A table.

The former Lille Olympique Sport Club forward, is on course to becoming the first African player to win highest goalscorer award in Serie A.
The goals against Torino took his tally for the season to 21 goals in 23 appearances. He’s now scored a total of 45 Serie A goals, one goal behind George Weah.
Weah a former FIFA Ballon D’or winner, was the highest scoring African in Italy. He scored 46 times in 116 appearnces for Milan .
Reacting to the outcome of the Serie A fixture, the Nigerian marksman praised God.
He confirmed his attention is now focused on the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
“Another Win Another Brace,Focus Now On The Game Against Guinea Bissau. GOD Is The Greatest,” he wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
The Italian Serie A alongside other European competitions will be on-hold until after the FIFA international break.
During the break, Osimhen and his international teammates will battle Guinea-Bissau at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja on 24 March.
A second date for the tie will happen I’m Guinea-Bissau three days after the latter.
