According to reports, the former VFL Wolfsburg forward wants to continue playing in Europe; but is facing some challenges as it concerns his wage demands.
Meanwhile, Al Ahli who has a better wage offer than European counterparts is not being wholeheartedly considered by Osimhen who is wishing that a release clause be introduced into his deal.
Reacting to the back and forth moment, ex Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye, expressed dissatisfaction with the way events are unfolding for the reigning CAF POTY.
What Ideye said about Osimhen transfer saga
“It’s a shame they don’t rate him among the top strikers abroad, after an amazing season with his club and winning the African best player award,” Ideye posted on his official X handle.
The former West Bromwich Albion forward in another tweet targeted at the 25-year-old, advised him to go and make money in Saudi Pro League.
According to the 2013 AFCON winner, footballers especially of African extraction, see football career as a way of escaping poverty.
“You can’t feed your family with trophy, we all play football because that’s the only way out of the hood, we want to have all the good things in life and take care of our family.
“It’s not every Nigerian footballer playing in Europe that is making good money after tax.
“Don’t miss a move that will set you and your family up for life, in football every game you play may be your last,” Ideye wrote in a series of tweets.
Ideye in another tweet, went as far as blaming Roberto Calenda, Victor Osimhen’s agent for not allowing the forward go to a club of his choice even if it implies taking a pay-cut.

“If I’m him (Victor Osimhen), I will go to Saudi, play 2 years then go back to Europe he’s still young. some players are doing that. I don’t know why he’s agent don’t allow him to take a pay cut and play in his dream club, Chelsea. I think it is more than we read online,” Ideye was quoted by CompleteSports Nigeria.
