Jordan was born in Germany to Nigerian parents. And his father, Ojokojo Torunarigha in his time was also a footballer; and represented the Super Eagles.
And having represented Germany at age-grade tournaments, Jordan has decided to switch to the country of his parents.
However, the news didn’t get a nationwide recognition as expected, and that’s because of the player’s initial snubbing of the national team.
Before the FIFA men’s world cup in 2018, then Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has wanted Jordan in his team. But then, he snubbed the call-up; citing difficulty in adapting to the pattern of football.
“It is difficult for me because my parents are from Nigeria, but I have never been to Nigeria,” Torunarigha told Soccernet.ng.
According to him, he doesn’t have a background knowledge of the people of Nigeria. And how the country looks like, hence stressing it will be difficult for him to adapt.

Despite never visiting Nigeria, Jordan consumes a lot Nigerian products ranging from the Afrobeat songs from Burna Boy, WizKid, Davido and others; to eating Nigerian foods.
And he also has a tattoo of Afrobeat pioneer and human right activist, Fela Kuti on his arm.
“My dad only listened to Fela when he took his shower,” Torunarigha said.
“I listen to his music. He’s a legend for all Nigerians.”
