Nigeria Super Falcons Christy Ucheibe is ranked the sixth best tackler at the just concluded 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
According to the statistics released by the Federation of International Football Association(FIFA), as reported by Dailypost Ucheibe was outstanding. She completed a total of 34 successful tackles for Nigeria at the tournament.
Ucheibe was one of the few Nigerians that had a stellar performance before Nigeria crashed out of the women’s World Cup.

And Interestingly, she featured and played till the final whistle in all the matches of the Super Falcons.
According to FIFA’s statistics, Australia’s combative Katrina Gorry topped the list of best tacklers. She completed successfully 59 tackles for Australia; sadly, the host nation failed to secure a podium finish.

Meanwhile, Jackie Groenan of Netherlands and George Stanway of England are joint second. With both lucrative midfielders successfully completing a total of 44 tackles at the competition.
On the other hand, Sweden’s Filipa Angeldahl is third with 43 tackles. The combatant midfielder, who protected the back-four of the Swede ladies helped the Scandinavian Country to a bronze finish.
And at the number four position, is Grace Geroyo of France. She completed successfully 40 tackles, helping France reach the knockout stages of the tournament. But more sadly, she couldn’t help France secure a podium finish, though she has set her sights on the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
And on the fifth spot is, England’s Lucy Bronze. The lucrative midfield maestro in her games for the Lionesses had 37 successful tackles. More Interestingly, she helped England reach a world cup final in over two attempts. But had to settle for the silver medal, as Spain pipped the Lionesses to the title.

However, Nigerian fans are cheerful of what Christy was able to achieve with the Super Falcons. Some fans had wondered what the combative Midfielder would’ve achieved if Nigeria had progressed a little further in the tournament.
