“In the first two or three La Liga games I have seen with my own eyes that the referees are very bad.

“They hit me and the referee simply told me to get up. No, it is a foul and he has to signal it. But if they hit another person, the referee simply blows the whistle and it is very painful,” he said.

“It is very painful,” he retorted. “You cannot do anything and you have no power. The referee has the power to do what he wants. No, he has to stop it. It is not good” Uche said.

Speaking further, the former Cueta player revealed that he on some occasions had suffered racial slurs from rival fans who usually use his colour to taunt him during games.

And when such thing occurs, he gets no protection from the referee.

“They call me a f***ing black man and the referees do nothing”.

This his statement according to reports may land him in trouble waters both at his club and also with the Spanish federation.

Reacting to the outburst by the player, Ikpe advised Christantus to get himself properly orientated.

He was quick to remind the youngster that all badged referees are being monitored by FIFA; which will not hesitate to take actions when there’s need.

“Orientation is very important. He has forgotten that referees are under FIFA, and any referee who makes mistakes can be controlled and penalized,” he stated.

“Does he think Getafe is an Enugu or Anambra team to compare the situation in Spain? He needs good advice. As a professional, he must learn how to communicate effectively.”

As per MD, the Getafe offensive midfielder would be sanctioned for his comments as they do not question the honourability and honesty of the referees.

In addition, he does not use foul-sounding or humiliating language, meaning that no punishment be handed out even if a complaint was filed by the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA).
