Super Eagles legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha, joins the league of football legends praising forward Victor Boniface npflupdates.com reports.
Victor Boniface has been outstanding for Bayer 04 Leverkusen since he joined from Belgian Pro League outfit Royale Union Saint Gilloise last August.

The 22-year-old has contributed to eleven of Bayer Leverkusen’s goals in his last six games in all competitions. Scoring eight wonderful goals and assisting three times.
And as a result of brilliant performance, the former Bodø and Glimt forward was awarded the German Bundesliga Player Of The Month (POTM), and Rookie Of The Month (ROTM) for August.
Speaking on the form of the young forwards, Okocha an Olympic Gold Medalist expressed delight in seeing Nigerians progress.
According to the former Bolton Wanderers skipper, Boniface gives Nigeria hopes; and also proves it’s not short of talents.

“He’s [Boniface] been amazing. It’s always great to see one of our own doing well,” Okocha told LiveScore.
“He gives us hope. It shows we are not short of talent. We [Nigeria] just need to get our act together!
“It is an exciting time for Nigerian football, and the good thing is their ages; some of them haven’t even hit their prime yet.”
He added that, “It’s now about finding a way to getting the best out of them when they come to play for Nigeria.”
In a related development, Germany legend and a Ballon d’Or winner Lothar Matthäus, appreciated Leverkusen for scouting the Nigerian.
“On the contrary: it was incomprehensible to me that he played in Belgium for so long and no German club noticed him,” the 62-year-old wrote in his Sky column.
“Congratulations to Leverkusen — for the other scouting departments in the Bundesliga I say: 17 times the grade 5 that they didn’t bring this player from Belgium for this amount,” continued Matthäus.

According to Matthäus, some German clubs may have scouted Boniface in the past, but ” had concerns because he had already torn his cruciate ligaments twice.”
“But after I saw him two or three times, I thought, ‘I’ll walk from Munich to Belgium for this player.”
Victor Boniface joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen for a fee of €20.5 Million. He is expected to return good numbers when Bayer Leverkusen takes on Mainz this weekend.
