Super Eagles and Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface, has expressed unconditional love for his coach Xabi Alonso npflupdates.com reports.
Victor Boniface came under the tutelage of Xabi Alonso when he signed for Bayer Leverkusen last August from Belgian Pro League outfit Royale Union Saint Gilloise. And since his arrival, the Nigerian has scored seven goals in seven German Bundesliga games.

On Sunday, he helped Leverkusen defeat perennial rival FC Cologne in a derby match at the BayArena. It was a keenly contested fixture, but the Black and Red colours, managed to find a breakthrough, scored thrice and now occupies the top position ok Tue Bundesliga table.
Speaking in an interview, the 22-year-old highlighted the importance of coaches, who nurture and harness players so they can come good.

“I think you have to give credit to the coaches. Bringing new players to the team is not easy, and adapting is not easy, but I think they made the right choice in bringing the type of players that suit the way they want to play,” Boniface said as quoted by The NationOnline.
According to the Nigerian, Xabi Alonso, is not only just his coach, but he also loves working with him.
“Xabi is – apart from being a coach – a nice person to work with. I enjoy working with him,” he continued.
“Even before I came to sign, we didn’t speak, but he spoke good about me after the first game. It is good for me,” he added.
In a related development, Alonso, admits being happy for his side’s victory against Cologne. According to the former Liverpool Midfielder, Leverkusen dominated the fixture, and would’ve scored more goals as they created more chances.
“We are really happy to win today, we played really wel, made good chances and scored three goals. We could have had more. It’s a great moment for us to celebrate a derby win,” the former Real Madrid player told club’s media.
Also, Bayer 04 Leverkusen Midfielder, Granit Xhaka, explained how motivated his teammates were, going into the game.

“Of course we knew before the game how important this game is for the fans, the club and also the players. We feel that we could have won by more, but we’ll take the three points,” the former Arsenal man said.
