And the 26-year-old is anticipating his second AFCON tournament with Nigeria after staying out of the last edition in Cameroon. During the AFCON in Cameroon, Victor Osimhen is out after suffering a career-ending injury that left him with screws in his face.
Ahead of the 2024 AFCON in Ivory Coast, religious leader, Prophetess Elizabeth, has dropped a prophecy. According to her, Osimhen is posed to have a glorious AFCON outing. But for that to happen he first needs a spiritual cleansing to ensure his spiritual enemies stayed away from him.
Victor Osimhen needs spiritual cleansing to be protected from his enemies
“Victor(Osimhen), is a great footballer and has had found favour in the sight of his ancestors. According to what I have, he will flourish like a palm at the AFCON, that’s because he’s blessed,” she told npflupdates.com.

“But, he had some enemies(spiritual) who are poised, and vowed to deter such greatness. It’s a bad omen, which must be averted so that the Nigerian can achieve his full potential.”
Speaking further, the renowned prophet regrets not being taken serious by Nigerians.
“Nigerians don’t regard me, even when I speak the truth to them. Anyways, he(Osimhen) should disregard this information at his own risk.”
And in a related development, Victor Osimhen admitted Ballon d’Or nomination is like a dream come true.
“I must say it is a dream come true for me. It is a big honour for me and my family,” Osimhen told reporters in Uyo, and was quoted by CompleteSports Nigeria.
According to the Serie A highest goalscorer, he “have worked so hard for a moment like this and must say it is a reward for all the years of hard work and dedication.”
“This can only spur me to do better and get more recognition,” he stated.
Also in an interview he had with the media ahead of the dead-rubber Sao Tome and Principe game, Osimhen expressed his willingness to sacrifice his position to ensure Super Eagles victory.
He opined that he’s ready to pair with anybody chosen by the coach once it’s for the betterment of the team. Admittedly, he mentioned Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Gift Orban and Kelechi Iheanacho as very good strikers in the team.
“For me, I don’t mind who I pair with because we’ve got amazing strikers. (Taiwo) Awoniyi is there, (Victor) Boniface is there, (Gift) Orban also, (Kelechi) Iheanacho is there also,” he said to the media in Uyo.
