Flying Eagles head coach, Isah Ladan Bosso, has cried over the urgent need for the recruitment of strikers into his team ahead of the FIFA U-20 W’Cup tournament coming in Indonesia later this year.
Bosso’s Flying Eagles recently returned to Nigeria from Egypt where they participated for the AFCON U-20. Nigeria won Bronze medal after losing out on the finals ticket to Gambia.

Bosso agreed he won’t make much change in the squad that traveled with him for AFCON. In an interview with Owngoal Nigeria revealed that for his side to have a successful outing in May, he’d be recruiting new players. But, especially in the attacking department.
Bosso Explains AFCON U-20 Main Objective:
“I am okay with certain areas in my team and won’t make so much changes to it for the W’Cup. In defence, we can say we are really good, and even goalkeeper isn’t an issue but in attack,” he told OwngoalNigeria Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking on the number of players he maybe recruiting to ensure he doesn’t have same goal-scoring challenges as he had in Egypt he said, “I can do with five new players. If I can get three from them then we are fine.”
Bosso reiterated he’s ready and willing to utilise any means possible to ensure he fortifies his team. And of course get them ready for the big games in Indonesia.
“Generally, the main issue we faced is in that department right from when we were in the camp in Abuja. I have asked for the young strikers doing well in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). But they are very few,” he continued.
“Players born and based in Europe have also been mentioned to me. I am looking at all available option to fortify my attack,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Bosso will until April 10 submit his provisional squad list for the world cup to FIFA.
