The President of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has cried over the poor commitment of some players invited to the senior national team of Nigeria npflupdates reports.
Weeks ago, fans criticised the list of invited players by Coach Jose Peseiro for the AFCON qualifier matches against Guinea-Bissau.
And according to findings, most of the invited players seemed not committed to the progress of the senior national team.
However, it seemed the fans’ speculations paid off. Because, the Super Eagles was stunned, losing to Guinea-Bissau at Moshood Abiola stadium on Friday.
The Wild Dogs scored in the 29th minute through, ES Troyes forward, Mama Balde. And the goal was the only difference between the two sides in the first-half.
The forward ran between Nigeria center-backs Kevin Akpoguma and Calvin Bassey, trapped a loop ball and slotted into the net of a charging Francis Uzoho.
Efforts by the Super Eagles to restore parity in the first-half hit the rocks, as the Djurtus held their positions.
Goal-scoring chances were created by the home sides later on; but the Djurtus stood their grounds to get three points.
And the loss on Friday, was Nigeria’s fourth consecutive losses. It also had them slip down into the second position in their AFCON qualifier group.

Reacting to the loss, the NFF President told the media that national team players will have to show commitment. And that only form for clubs and antecedents will not be a criteria for invitations to the national team.
NFF warn players about commitment
“NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau announced on Saturday said that visible total commitment implying patriotic fervour will now be a key factor, apart from competence and current form, for any football player who wishes to wear the nation’s green-white-green jersey at any level,” a top football commentator, Mike revealed on his Twitter handle.
Nigeria will look to return to winning ways on Monday when they face Guinea-Bissau in the Bissau.
