Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday defeated it’s 2024 summer Olympics opponent Ethiopia npflupdates.com reports.
Super Falcons will now face off with winners from Cameroon and Uganda clash to stand a chance of qualifying for the Olympics, for the first time in over a decade.

Super Falcons beat Ethiopia in Abuja
It was a keenly contested first-half with the Ethiopian Lucy trying to force the Super Falcons to a draw. Forward, Uchenna Kanu however, broke the deadlock in the stoppage time of the first-half to give Nigeria the lead at half-time.
Second-half brace from stand-in Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Barcelona Femeni forward Asisat Oshoala ensured the nine-time African champions emerged victorious.
And that has fulfilled the statement of Super Falcons Stand-in coach Justin Magudu; who said that his girls are prepared for battle against the Ethiopians.
According to the gaffer, the team is saddened with the 1-1 draw of the first leg at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa last week.
“We were not too happy about the result of that first game. It’s unfortunate not to win the first leg but we are equally realistic with ourselves,” the gaffer told theff.com in a pre-match interview as quoted by Dailypost Nigeria.

“We had some challenges in that game, and did our best to quickly surmount them. The girls have overcome those challenges and are really determined to make sure they are part of the Olympics next year.”
Nigeria will hope to qualify for the next edition of Olympics, that will be held in Paris, France, next year.
