What was observed from Super Eagles victory over Cameroon
Three key things was observed from the game against Cameroon; they include the following:
First, the Nigerian defense is no doubt the best at the tournament, conceding just one goal in four games. Players in the defensive positions are considered strikers nightmare, and always ensure that not much pressure gets to the goalkeeper. This is a move coach José Peseiro is advised to maintain going forward.
Secondly, Nigerians must really around injured Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who was substituted late on in the game due to a leg injury. The Chippa United goalkeeper was stretched out and replaced by colleague Francis Uzoho.
While Nigerians pray for the quick recovery of Nwabali, it’s also important, that they support any Goalkeeper choice of the team in case Nwabali didn’t return against Angola.
Finally, Nigeria’s attacking department should start converting all their chances. Yesterday, they missed a lot of clear goal-scoring chances against Cameroon. Should they continue to miss their chances, then it may cost them a fourth AFCON title.
In a related story, coach José Peseiro has provided update on injured Super Eagles Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
According to Peseiro, Nwabali will be checked by the team doctors, and medical report expect to be out in a matter of days.
“We will assess the state of Nwabali’s injury in the next 24 to 48 hours. It’s difficult to assess his condition, while we were in the match. But I am hoping that he will be fit for the next match… I want him to play. And the players want him to play,” he said.

Speaking further, the former Sporting CP manager, revealed he wants to win every game he’ll play at the AFCON. And if only his boys can play the way they did against Angola, then victory is assured.
“See, I want to just win every game, I don’t know what Nigerians think about names in football but if we must defeat Angola, we must play like today,” Peseiro told the Media during a post-match presser.
