Golden Eaglets Usman Ajibola Joins Olympique Lille On 2 Weeks Trial

Golden Eaglets Usman Ajibola has secured a two weeks trial at French Ligue 1 Olympique Lille npflupdates.com reports.

     

     

Usman Ajibola was part of the Golden Eaglets squad at the AFCON U-17 tournament in Algeria earlier this year. And the player who is a natural defender, was deployed in a combative midfield role by Coach Nduka Ugbade.

And at the tournament in Algeria, Usman featured in all Nigeria’s games at the group stages and knockout stages; before the team was eventually eliminated by Burkina Faso.

Characterised by speed, strength and body-balance, Usman was arguably the most versatile and combative player in that team.

According to his manager, he will stay with Olympique Lille for the next two weeks. And during this time, he will be accessed by club’s officials as he continues to develop and probably gets contracted.

Usman is a graduate of Tripple 44 football Academy; an academy based in Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria.

“Even though the Golden Eaglet of Nigeria crashed out in the quarter finals of the U-17 AFCON, Usman Ajibola did well to catch the attention of a few European clubs,” his manager wrote on Twitter.

“And he would now have the chance to get his first European experience with the French Giant Lille OSC.”

And while discussing live with the manager and owner of the Academy, Olatunji Okuku, he said;

“We’re nothing but pencil in the hands of our creator; we just do our best and leave the rest to God.”

Usman Ajibola will now join the host of other Golden Eaglets players who have left the shores of Nigeria in search of greener pastures.
