Speaking further, the 29-year-old admitted she retired rather too early, and seeks an opportunity to publicly apologise to her fans.
Desire Oparanozie was with the Super Falcons squad at the recently concluded 2023 FIFA women’s world cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand. And that was her fourth world cup appearance; many had thought she’d lead the Super Falcons attack as they charge to qualify for next year’s Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
“It was something I had thought all over, I know I left the game early and I have not really had the opportunity to apologise to my fans.
“It is something that is definitely going to happen but a lot of people are not happy that I left the game too early but I want to thank them for the love they showed me,” she concluded saying.
Oparanozie represented the Super Falcons 35 times, and scored 22 goals across all competitions for the nine-time African champions.
In a related development, Oparanozie, is interested in sending interested and talented male grassroot footballers to Asia for trials. She publicly made the announcement, last month on Twitter (now X) handle.
