The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) settles the outstanding financial engagements it has with Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro; npflupdates.com reports.
Joss Peseiro refused to extend his contract with the NFF after leading Nigeria to a second place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

And severing whatever ties it had with the former Venezuela national team coach, the NFF has paid Peseiro’s outstanding salaries.
The NFF settle Peseiro’s outstanding salaries
According to Oluwashina Okeleji (@oluwashina on X, formerly Twitter) of the BBC, the former Porto manager has been paid his outstanding (17 months) wages from Nigeria last weekend.
And because of that, Peseiro will now have to pocket a whooping $850,000 (over ₦1.3 billion) while he decides his next career move. Reports has it that the former Saudi Arabia national team coach, has received quite a number of offers from both national teams and clubs.
In a related story, Peseiro appreciated the fans and supporters of the Super Eagles who stood behind the team during their outing at the last edition of AFCON.
According to the 63-year-old, the supporters should always continue to support the team, stressing that players go through a lot to serve their country.
“I want to thank all Nigerians and the entire press for the interest, support, and encouragement given to the Super Eagles while I was their coach. I would like to ask all of you to always support your players. These athletes give their all for the Super Eagles, taking pride in representing their country. The players make sacrifices to bring you joy,” the former Sporting CP manager wrote on his X handle and was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.
