But with the degree of players jostling for game time in the Three Lions of England attacking department, Adebayo may not get a shot in the nearest future.
And with the 26-year-old keen to play an international football, the Super Eagles remains his only option of achieving such dream.
But that can only materialize if the handlers of the three-time African champions deemed him fit for an invitation.
Recall, Elijah Adebayo has always tried to associate himself with the Nigerian people. Last season, he celebrated Luton Town’s promotion to the Premier League with Nigeria’s flag wrapped around his waist.
In a video shared on X recently, Elijah Adebayo who is currently out of action owing to a hamstring muscle injury and may likely miss the rest of the 2023-2024 season, was heard telling his fans how he would love to play for the Super Eagles.
