Super Eagles new coach Finidi George reveals he has been watching closely Nigeria’s next opponent at the 2026 FIFA world cup qualifier fixtures; npflupdates.com reports.
The Super Eagles will resume it’s 2026 world cup tournament qualifier against South Africa early next month.

Finidi who was recently announced as the new Super Eagles job by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is saddled with the responsibility of guiding the team to their first FIFA world cup tournament since 2018.
According to the former Ajax Amsterdam winger, he’s aware of his responsibility and the needs of the Super Eagles supporters.

“The World Cup qualification matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic is a collective responsibility for all Nigerians,” Finidi said, was quoted by SunnewsOnline as per Complete Sports
“I know I am in charge now, and the heavy responsibility is on me to win the two world cup matches.”
Speaking further, the 53-year-old revealed he’s been monitoring closely and with keen interest Super Eagles’ next world cup qualifier opponents; “In terms of having knowledge of our opponents, I have been following them.
“I will do my best to ensure success and qualify for the World Cup. I am also in touch with the players, and they are ready and willing to give their all, having missed out on the last edition held in Qatar.”
In another story, a recent report revealed Napoli forward Victor Osimhen was locked in a hotel room to prevent him from joining Liverpool.
According to Giandomenico Costi, who worked with the Napoli’s director Cristiano Giuntoli; Osimhen was prevented from meeting Liverpool representatives few years ago.
He said Giuntoli 1locked’ Osimhen inside a hotel to persuade him to join Napoli instead of a move to Anfield.

“The signing of Osimhen is Giuntoli’s biggest masterpiece”, he told Italian outlet Tuttosport.
“He [Osimhen] was locked in a hotel for three days. Giuntoli knew Liverpool were interested, and Jurgen Klopp had made his move, but Cristiano spoke to Osimhen in the hotel for three days until he convinced him to accept Napoli.”
