Super Eagles goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye on Thursday was not listed by the Confederation of African Football CAF, for the 2023 Best Goalkeeper Award npflupdates.com reports.

Adebayo Adeleye currently plays for Hapoel Jerusalem, in the temporarily suspended Israeli Premier League.
The 23-year-old, was in top form last season for Hapoel, as he helped the team finish well in the Israeli Premier League table last season; qualifying for a continental showpiece this season.
Adebayo Adeleye excluded from CAF list for 2022 Best Goalkeeper
According, to a list published by CAF on its official X handle, Adebayo Adeleye, wasn’t listed for the covetous prize. Cameroon’s Andre Onana and Yassine Bouno leads the list of the ten nominated goalkeepers. Onana, helped Inter Milan finish as runners-up in the 2022/2023 season of the UEFA Champions League competition.

Reacting to the exclusion of the one-capped Super Eagles player, Nigerians urged the goalie and other colleagues in the Super Eagles to sit up so as to make the 2924 list.
“To spit the truth None of Super Eagles goalkeepers deserve to be mentioned on the at all. The childish and under performance of Our first choice goalkeeper speak volume,” Facebook user CulRock Peter Onuoha reacted to a Post on Facebook app.

“Better luck next time Nigeria…..we need to scout for better goalkeeper. Adebayo Adeleye should be given more chance to Mann our post.,” Abduljaleleel Olayinka retorted.
Adebayo Adeleye is expected to join the Super Eagles squad for this month’s 2026 FIFA world cup qualifier matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
