Uzoho Tenders Public Apology After Provocative Snapchat Comment

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, has publicly apologised to fans after a provocative Snapchat comment earlier this week npflupdates.com reports.

Yesterday Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, took to his Snapchat handle and dropped a comment that looked more like a direct response to his critics following an awful performances for the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old came under serious criticism after he endured abysmal performances in Nigeria’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique last week Friday and on Monday respectively.

The Omonia Nicosia shot-stopper, had admonished critics to take up the goalkeeping challenge if they think it’s easy.

“If Easy do am make Oyibo Man Sign you,” he wrote on Snapchat.

And that comment got fans agitated, as they call him out using different approaches asking for his immediate exclusion from the Super Eagles.

However, Uzoho issued a statement on Thursday evening, apologising to fans and supporters. According to the former Deportivo la Coruna goalkeeper, the comment on Snapchat was out of frustration; stressing that it wasn’t intentional to hurt his fans in such a manner that he did.

What Uzoho said about his frustration and Snapchat comment

“It has come to my attention that my recent Snapchat has not been my best behaviour towards you all as my loyal fans,” he wrote as quoted by Channels Media.

“I apologise for this as it was not my intention to conduct myself in such a manner toward the fans who have supported and motivated me throughout my career.

“My actions were more a result of frustration stemming from the actions of someone in my circle (will keep the identity private for now).”

The former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, acknowledged that criticism is part of his job, and he’s open to accepting it with open arms.

“Accepting criticism is part of my job and one that I often welcome from the people who continue to support me. I accept your criticisms with the utmost respect and understanding that you all want me to do better,” he continued.

He added, “I want you all to know that I continue to grow daily as a person and in my career and you all are a vital part of my growth and success. My actions are aimed to reflect this and will continue to do so.”

Meanwhile recent reports has suggested that Francis will still retain his position as Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper going into 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
