The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ibrahim Gusau, has assured the Super Eagles of his support and steadfastness NPFL Updates reports.
The Super Eagles held it’s first ever meeting with the new NFF President at a reception in Abuja Thursday.
The national team is currently camping in Abuja ahead of their AFCON qualifier match against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau on Friday evening.
In the meeting crucial talking points were raised and addressed. And, the most important excerpt from the meeting was a promise by the NFF board.
The NFF promised to always tell the truth to the players and coaches no matter what it takes. It assured a cordial working environment for both players and the board.

Gusau reiterated his commitment towards building an enviable national team collaborating well the government of the day.
Gusau promises truthfulness to Super Eagles
In his words, “We are here to welcome you for this very important match,” Gusau told the Super Eagles as monitored by NFF TV .
“Since our election back in September, almost six months now. I have not had the opportunity to meet you people as a team. But, there are some of you that I told and I received their congratulatory messages.”
According to the Zamfara-born businessman, he has already held talks with the leadership of the team.
The 59-year-old assured his government can never lie to the players no matter what happens later on.
“I’ve discussed with your leadership, we will discuss with you. But the key thing I want to tell you, I as the President of the NFF will never sit down with you and tell you whatever we cannot do,” he continued.
“Whatever I know is possible for us to do is what I will tell you. And whatever I know we cannot do, I will look at you and I will tell you, and we’ll discuss it and agree. Because all of us we look for success, and success of ourselves and success of our country.”
“There’s no point for us to come and tell you lies tomorrow, next tomorrow. No, I will not do that,” he rounded saying.
