A former Sporting CP forward Emmanuel Amuneke speaks publicly for the first after failing to secure the Super Eagles coaching job; npflupdates.com reports.
Amuneke alongside many other coaches submitted their CVs to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following a job listing by the federation.
And while many Super Eagles fans of Nigerian extraction wants the former FC Barcelona winger to land the job, the NFF last Monday announced Finidi George as tye new Super Eagles coach.

According to the NFF, Finidi who served as an assistant to ex coach José Peseiro is familiar with the tactics and can foster continuity.
Meanwhile, Amuneke in his statement, argued that some officials who never wanted him in the position were behind the selection.
According to the 53-year-old, those officials who he didn’t give their names, smeared his reputation in the media. And that in turn affected his chances of getting the job.
What Amuneke said about some officials who smeared his name
“They succeeded in smearing my name in the media because of the Eagles job,” Amuneke said, as per the Punch.
“They can continue with their propaganda, but I will remain disciplined. It’s not do-or-die job.
Speaking further, the former Tanzania national team coach corrected that whatever that was put out in the media against him, were all false.
“All those allegations made in the media online because of the Eagles job are obviously not true, but those who recommended candidates for the job know I will not be easily bullied. I know there is still bad blood with these officials, but its fine.”
In another story, Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho expresses excitement playing at the Old Trafford.
According to the former Golden Eaglets goalie, the outcome of the match doesn’t really matter.
At the Old Trafford against Manchester United in a UEFA Europa League fixture, Uzoho made 12 saves; and was close to clinching a cleansheet if not for a late goal by Scottish midfielder Scott Mctominay.

“I am not disappointed with the result because we had a great game, but we would have preferred to get at least a point. But I’m happy, it’s not an easy Stadium to play in with these big players,” Uzoho was quoted by PUNCH Nigeria.
Uzoho continued, “Yeah, it was quite an experience for me, being at Old Trafford, competing against top-level players, it was a thing of joy for me. I was really happy to be in that stadium. And to be able to participate as well.
