Uzoho : Old Trafford Isn’t An Easy Stadium, I’m Proud I Played Against Ronaldo And Other Top Players There

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho reveals that playing against Manchester United at the prestigious Old Trafford was something he’s proud of; npflupdates.com reports.

Uzoho few years ago was in goal for Cypriot outfit Omonia Nicosia during a UEFA Europa League fixture against Manchester United.

The Nigerian was outstanding in what appeared to be a one-sided game that saw the host rain shots on the 25-year-old. It was a man-of-the-match performance for the former APOEL Nicosia star who made 12 saves.

It was going to be a draw if not for a late close strike by Manchester United midfielder Scot Mctominay.

What Francis Uzoho said about playing at the Old Trafford

Uzoho stated, as quoted by PUNCH Nigeria, “I am not disappointed with the result because we had a great game, but we would have preferred to get at least a point. But I’m happy, it’s not an easy Stadium to play in with these big players.”

The former Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper expressed his excitement at having a good game against his boyhood club Manchester United.

Uzoho continued, “Yeah, it was quite an experience for me, being at Old Trafford, competing against top-level players, it was a thing of joy for me. I was really happy to be in that stadium. And to be able to participate as well.

Meanwhile, Uzoho has been outstanding for Omonia; keeping five clean sheets in his last six games.

He is expected that make the Super Eagles squad that will play in next month’s FIFA 2026 world cup qualifier.
