English Premier League champions Manchester City survived a goal-threat from Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi on Saturday npflupdates.com reports.

Taiwo Awoniyi and his Nottingham Forest teammates on Saturday suffered its first premier League defeat in two matches.

“There were 46 passes in the build up to Phil Foden’s opener against Nottingham Forest, the second longest passing sequence leading to a Premier League goal on record (since 2006/07), after Nacer Chadli’s strike for Spurs v QPR in August 2014(48 passes),” Opta wrote on X(formerly Twitter).

The win ensured the Cityzens have been excellent on its journey to defending it’s English Premier League Championship.

Ahead of the game, coach Steve Cooper, while motivating his players told them that whatever achievement they’ve had in the last isn’t enough for both the club and fans.

“Whatever good things we might have done over the last couple of years, it’s not enough. It’s got to be more,” Cooper told the club’s media.
