A former Burkina Faso forward Aristide Bance has promoted and introduced at least twenty grassroot footballers from Ivory Coast to European system of football npflupdates.com reports.
According to a report that went viral Tuesday night, the former Main 05 forward bought twenty players from his football academy in Ivory Coast.

The players will join and train with Mainz youth teams; as his academy are in partnership with the German club. Per the report, Mainz will now provide the players with all the necessary kits they’d be needing throughout their developmental process.

“Former Mainz 05 striker Aristide Bancé bought 20 players from his academy in Ivory Coast to play & train with Mainz youth teams. His academy have an official partnership with the German club. Mainz will now train them, supply them with kits, boots, and other sports equipment. Exceptional players would be signed permanently at the end of their training/trials,” NPFLUpdates posted on its official Facebook page.
Reacting to the post which has since gone viral, Nigerians have called out Super Eagles legends who fail to(or are slow) in promoting grassroot footballers.
A Facebook user, Abdulahad Sani, was quick to point out and appreciate football legends who give back to their communities. At the same time, the netizen highlighted how a former Super Eagles Captain Austin Jay Jay Okocha promote betting other than individual development.
Okocha amongst other Super Eagles legends like Kanu Nwankwo, Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi and Mikel Obi at some point have promoted some top bookmakers in Nigeria.
“I was discussing this with ur bro last nyt. We used Mané as a case study Okocha wan use bet finish us 🤣” abdulahad Sani commented.
“Non of them will do it. Next you’ll see another bookie where they have shares floating the net,” Ekanem Aniefiok added
Meanwhile, it’s important to note that some Super Eagles legend are not publicising their grassroot football promotions(they do that behind the scenes).
