According to the experienced football tactician many players in the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) with at least two years experience are over the age of 20. And of course can be considered for the ongoing training camp in Abuja.
“People have been saying why I called up academy players. I believe that the academy players will give us what we are looking for better than that of the Nigeria Premier Football League,” Bosso told Nigeria media outlet Totori News.
“Most of the Premier League players, in most cases no player in the NPFL that has played the Premier League for two years is an U20 player, it’s a capital lie.”
So to avoid a situation whereby players in his squad are subjected to unnecessary suspicion, he opted for academy players with defined information.
“Out of experience all you need to do, remember the last time we went to Niger, after winning the trophy some few players we just had to do away with them because of one problem or the other.
“The best thing is for us to go for players that have a very clear record, that cannot be suspected.”
The 30 provisional players invited by Bosso are the following:
Goalkeepers: Nathaniel Nwosu, Andy Ezekiel, James Friday, Femi Oriola
Defenders: Daniel Bameyi, Benjamin Frederick, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Emmanuel Michael, Emmanuel Onoja, Ime Sampson, Haruna Aliyu
Midfielders: Daniel Daga, Auwal Ibrahim, Yinka Sola, Farouq Olanrewanju, Chibueze Izuogu, Simon Karshe, Ibrahim Adamu, Ibrahim Idris.
