English Premier League outfit, Chelsea has switched their attention towards a free-scoring Nigerian youngster Gift Orban NPFL Updates understands.
Gift’s impressive goal-scoring form in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and the UEFA competitions has not gone unnoticed with several clubs across Europe’s top five leagues arleady jostling for his signature.
Gift joined KAA Gent from a Norwegian second division outfit Stabaek during the last winter transfer. And has since then established himself as a goal-king in the Pro League.
In five league matches for Gent, the 20-year-old, has managed a total of seven goals. With his last goal coming from last weekend’s fixture against Zulte Waregem.

Against Zulte Waregem he struck four times to help KAA Gent win. He is the first ever player to score four goals in a single Belgian Jupiler Pro League match for Gent, since the start of the century.
A source close to the kid told NPFLUpdates Chief Monday evening that Chelsea amongst other top European clubs are monitoring the youngster’s development. And may negotiate a deal before the Summer transfer window opens.
Chelsea Will Pay €40M For Gift Orban:
“Gift’s form in front of goal is no longer confined within the Pro League,” he said.
“Last weekend, scouts from England and France came to watch the boy. Interestingly, a scout from Chelsea was there also. And according to what I have here, Chelsea is interested in the kid. If he(Gift) keep up this goal-scoring pace, he may move to England in the summer.”
Chelsea are still in the market searching for a consistent goal-poacher, who can help solve their goal-scoring crisis.
However, to sign Gift, potential suitors would have to cough out to the region of forty-fifty million Euros. This was confirmed by his coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck.
“Forty million! Although it may be around fifty million,” Hein said in a post-match press conference. That’s when he was asked the value of Orban; remember he bought the youngster for three million Euros.
